Research towards the next generation mobile wireless communications system has started. This talk will introduce the EU FP7 METIS project, and give an overview of the current research towards 5G systems at Chalmers. METIS is the first international and large-scale research activity on 5G, targeting solutions for the needs foreseen beyond 2020.
