1. International Mobility Obligation
Internationalization is an important element of student life at EURECOM. While Engineering students need to fulfill an international mobility requirement to obtain the diploma, Master's students are also encouraged to participate in these rewarding experiences.
International Mobility for Engineering students
To earn the Engineering Diploma from EURECOM, students must complete an experience abroad of a minimum of 16 consecutive weeks abroad (17 weeks recommended). Your international experience must take place outside France, Monaco, Andorra, and your home country. You can choose from:
- Study Mobility: Spend a semester at one of EURECOM’s prestigious partner universities through an exchange or dual-degree program.
- Internship Abroad: Complete a professional internship abroad during semester 10, which can also be used to validate the end-of-studies internship requirement.
- Gap Year: Beware experiences during a gap year, including studies (mainly as a Free mover in a non-partner University) or professional work, do not qualify for the mandatory mobility requirement. You are still free to pursue their international projects, but take into account you will still need to validate your international mobility obligation with one of the above options.
This requirement is designed to enhance academic and professional growth while fostering global perspectives and intercultural competencies.
International Mobility for Master’s students
While Master’s students are not required to complete an international mobility period, they can also enrich their academic profile with an international experience. Eligible students can choose to:
- Participate in an exchange program at a partner university for one semester.
- Undertake an internship abroad in their field of study.
This optional international experience provides a unique opportunity to enhance professional and academic skills in a global context.

3. Internships abroad
Students seeking an internship abroad are encouraged to independently search for opportunities that align with their career goals and interests. While EURECOM does not maintain a portfolio of partner companies for internships, we are here to support you in the process.
Our team can guide you through the necessary steps to formalize your internship agreement and ensure all requirements are met. Additionally, you may be eligible for financial aid to assist with the costs of your international experience (See the section Financial Support below).

Internship Types
For Engineering students
Introduction-to-Business Internship: Typically undertaken in the 6th or 7th semester, this internship lasts a minimum of 4 weeks and focuses on understanding company structures, processes, and human relations.
Final-Year Project (PFE): Conducted in the 10th semester, this 24-week project prepares students for the workforce through substantial tasks and contributions to their host organization.
For Master’s and Post-Master’s students
Final-Year Project (PFE): A 20-week internship involving advanced tasks and research in a corporate setting or R&D lab. It culminates in a dissertation and defense, evaluated for academic credit.

4. Financial support
Are you planning an exchange semester or dual degree abroad during your studies at EURECOM? Discover the scholarships available for EURECOM students and explore funding options to support your international mobility experience!
Erasmus+ (granted by the European Commission)
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for financial aid under Erasmus+, students must:
- Be enrolled at EURECOM during the academic year of mobility.
- Undertake mobility lasting between 2 and 12 in an Erasmus+ destination.
- Not exceed the 12-month Erasmus+ funding limit per study cycle.
- Submit the required application before departure and fulfill the mandatory procedure during and after the mobility.
Funding Overview
- The grant amount depends on your destination, mobility duration, and distance to the host institution.
- Additional funding is available for students meeting inclusion criteria and those choosing eco-friendly (green) travel options.
- For the 2024/2025 academic year, typical funding ranges between €1,500 and €2,000 for a one-semester mobility, depending on the student’s profile.
PRAME (granted by Region Sud)
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be tax residents in the PACA Region.
- The destination must be outside the EU, and the student must not hold the host country’s nationality.
- Students must be enrolled at EURECOM for the mobility academic year.
- Applicants must be under 30 years old.
- Students receiving other mobility grants are not eligible.
- The mobility period must be between 12 weeks and 12 months.
- Family income must not exceed €26,000.
Funding Details*
- €125 per mobility week.
- Additional one-time payments:
- €200 for students requiring a visa.
- €400 for students with a disability.
Grants disbursement: The grants are transferred in two times: a first payment (80%) is released after arriving to the host institution, while the second payment (20%) is sent at the end of the mobility. In no case grants are transferred before departure.
*These grant amounts are those applicable for mobilities in 2024/2025. Grant modalities and amounts are reviewed every academic year.
