Simone ROSSI is PhD Student in Deep Probabilistic Modeling (previously MSc in Electronic Engineering and MSc in Computer Engineering) under the supervision of Prof. Maurizio FILIPPONE.
In 2015, Simone graduated with Honours (cum Laude) in BSc Electronic and Information Technologies Engineering at University of Genova (IT) with a Thesis on "Feature Extraction for High Resolution Remote Sensing Image Classification using Histograms of Oriented Gradients". After, he got accepted at Politecnico di Torino (IT) where he started the MSc in Electronic Engineering with specialization on Embedded Systems (graduated cum Laude in 2018).
In 2016, he was selected to participate to a Double Degree program, jointly managed by Telecom ParisTech (Paris, FR) and EURECOM (Sophia Antipolis, FR). During this year, he had the opportunity to study and train on the state-of-the-art of Machine Learning models (Statistical Inference and Deep Learning).
In 2017, he worked as Research Associate at Columbia University in the City of New York (USA) for carrying out the research required to successfully defend the final Master Thesis (entitled "Accelerating Convolutional Neural Networks with High Level Synthesis").
Now, he a PhD Student in Deep Probabilistic Modeling at EURECOM and his current interests include Bayesian Variational Inference, Bayesian Deep Learning and Bayesian Uncertainty Estimation.
