Simone Melcarne is currently pursuing his PhD in the Digital Security Department at EURECOM Institute, Sophia Antipolis, France, under the supervision of Professor Jean-Luc Dugelay. His research is part of the CONVERGE project, with a focus on advancing Computer Vision techniques for Multimodal Image Inpainting.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Media Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2021. He then completed a Double Master’s Degree in Data Science and Engineering, as well as Cinema and Media Engineering, through a collaboration between Politecnico di Torino and EURECOM in 2024.
For his Master’s thesis, Simone interned at the Huawei Nice Research Center, where he worked on High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging and tone mapping. His research explored innovative AI-driven methods to enhance tone mapping processes while ensuring high levels of color fidelity.
