- Xueliang Liu was born in Hebei (China) in 1981.
- In July 2005, he got his Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering. From Sept 2005 to Jun 2008, he was studying as a graduate student at University of Science & Technology of China.
- In June 2008, he got his Master degree and then worked as a software engineer until April 2009.

Now, he is a Ph.D student in the Department of Multimedia at EURECOM, under the guidance of Professor Benoit Huet.
