Laurent was born in Aosta (Italy) in 1986.
In 2009, he obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in electronics engineering from Politecnico di Torino (Italy).
Two years later, in 2011, he obtained his Master of Science (M.Sc) in telecommunications engineering, always from Politecnico di Torino.
Between 2010 and 2011 he was an intern at Infineon Technologies France (now Intel Mobile Communications) in Sophia Antipolis, where he researched in the domain of Cognitive Radio communications. During this internship, he worked on his Master thesis "Beamforming for performance optimization in the underlay cognitive MISO channels: a novel algorithm for weighted sum rate maximization".
After working for two years as an engineer in the field of wireless sensor networks and as a teacher, in 2013 he joined the Mobile Communication department at EURECOM as a Ph.D student under the direction of Jérôme Härri, Assistant Professor.
His current research interests are vehicular direct communications using LTE-A in the domain of public transportation.
