- Athanasios (Thanos) Andreou is currently a doctoral student in the Network and Security department of EURECOM in Sophia-Antipolis, France, under the supervision of Professor Patrick Loiseau. His current research is on transparency in online services and other issues related to learning in social systems (as well as a little bit of cyberinsurance).
- He was a research intern in MPI-SWS, Saarbrucken, Germany from February-August 2015 under the supervision of Professor Krishna Gummadi and Dr Oana Goga. His work on focused social systems and quantifying anonymity in them.
- He received his Msc in Communications & Computer Security from EURECOM/Telecom ParisTech in 2015. During these studies he worked on methods of automated detection of fake followers on the Twitter Service.
- He performed his Msc thesis in SAP-Labs Mougins (6 month internship), France titled « Next Gen' Elearning: A Social and Gamified Framework».
- He received his Diploma (Msc & MEng) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NTUA, Athens, Greece in 2012.
- His Diploma thesis, under the supervision of Professor Timos Selis was on building a framework for social networks data harvest and analysis.
- He worked as a software engineer in the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS), Athens, Greece from November 2012 to August 2013.
