Congratulations to Benoit Huet , from Data Science Department, and his co-authors (Smith, Joshi, Josh, Dhiraj, Hsu, Winston, Cota, Jozef) who received a "Best Brave New Idea Award" for their paper "Harnessing AI for augmenting creativity" : Application to movie trailer creation" during the ACMMM 2017, 25th ACM Multimedia Conference, October 23-27, 2017, Mountain View, CA, USA.
Another great Award for Olfa Ben Ahmed, Benoit Huet and Raphael Troncy & co. who won the Best Demo Award for their poster "NexGenTV: Providing Real-Time Insight during Political Debates in a Second Screen Application" during ACMMM 2017.

This will be the 12th PhD Thesis defended at EURECOM in 2017.
Good luck to the two Ph.D. students, both from the Communication Systems Department: George ARVANITAKIS (supervised by Florian Kaltenberger) and Xiwen JIANG (also supervised by F. Kaltenberger), who will be supporting their theses on September 27 and October 4, 2017, respectively.
George VANITAKIS's Ph.D. thesis is entitled "Analytical Modeling for Flow-level Performance of Randomly Placed Wireless Networks" and Xiwen JIANG's "Massive MIMO: turning concept into reality by exploiting the channel reciprocity".

On Monday, 4th of September, three weeks before its official start (September 25th, 2017), EURECOM will host many foreign students for intensive French courses!
