We propose an open-source integrated simulation platform

namely simITS aiming at a realistic evaluation of communication

protocols for large scale vehicular networking. Using

ns-3 as network simulator and SUMO as road traffic simulator,

the main idea is to integrate these two simulation

environments in order to make the simulation more realistic.

Moreover, we propose to add a new protocol stack designed

for vehicular communications and compliant with the

draft of ETSI/ITS. Finally, we validate simITS by a basic

simulation study.
