The method involves a call unit which generates a designation code by coding the call unit identity using a coding key. The decoding key is unknown to an intermediate unit and is known to an affiliated unit. The call unit transmits its designation code to the intermediate unit which retransmits the code to the affiliated unit. The affiliated unit decodes the designation code using the decoding key to discover the identity of the call unit. The affiliated unit verifies the predetermined call unit criterion. The affiliated unit calculates and transmits a verification state for the predetermined criterion to the intermediate unit.
