EURECOM, the R&D Division of BMW, and the Technical University of Munich, with the support of the French-Bavarian University Cooperation Center are organizing a summer school for doctoral students and young researchers on "Autonomous Vehicles and the Internet of Things".
It will take place in Lake Tegernsee, South of Munich, between July 27th and August 1st.
The goal is to create a forum for key industrial and academic experts in connected mobility to exchange  and work on the main social, economic and technological challenges impacting our lives and the industry.

This year, the summer school on Game Theory, which traditionally takes place in Campione d'Italia (Italy), will be dedicated to applications of game theory to telecommunications.
It will be held from Sunday the 7th to Friday the 12th of September 2014.

The school is oriented to PhD students, post-doc, and young scholars and addresses a large range of applications of Game Theory to Telecommunications.

Jens GROSSKLAGS, invited guest of Patrick Loiseau for a period of two months at EURECOM, will host a seminar on May 26th 2014, entitled "How Many Down? Toward Understanding Systematic Risk in Networks".

Aurélien Francillon, Assistant Professor at EURECOM, is proposing us to discover his presentation "IoT: Internet of (Insecure) Things" in which he asserts that the safety of Connected Objects should become a priority, in order not to jeopardize the data processed or stored by these objects.

Through the Orange Campus Partner Program, a group of EURECOM students will have the privilege on Thursday, May 15, 2014 to visit the Orange Lab in Sophia Antipolis. A meeting with specialists about Big Data Fast, LiveBox Pro and sensor networks.

"The International Workshop on "Wireless Optical Network Convergence in Support of Cloud Architectures" [WONC] will take place in  Austin (USA) on December 8th 2014. This workshop is co-organized with IEEE GLOBECOM 2014 and is chaired by Laura Cottattellucci, Ass. Prof. at the mobile communications Dept.

The sessions of the workshop will cover a wide range of key issues on the concept of C-RAN (radio access networks based on cloud computing to support network operational needs) spanning from emerging technologies for remote radio heads with low capital and operational costs to signal processing techniques for user-centric distributed antenna systems, to allocation and scheduling of radio, optical and computational resources, from signaling techniques for channel state acquisition to scalable algorithms optimized for distributed implementation, to dynamic capacity and mobility management

Congratulations to the Assistant-Professor Florian Kaltenberger who defended his HDR (french appellation for "Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches") on April 18th 2014, on the following topic « Experimental Analysis of Multi-user MIMO Communication Systems ».

  Martina Cardone (supervised by Prof. Raymond Knopp and Prof. Daniela Tuninetti) won the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship, with the project "Relay-assisted Mobile downlink channels". The goal is to maximize system capacity throuthe use of relays in a communication channel. Martina Cardone is already working on the optimal strategy for a single full-duplex relay. You will extend the analysis to multiple half-duplex relay with time-varying channels and structured codes.
