Security for vehicular DTNs

Roudier, Yves
Research Report RR-16-310

We discuss in this report the state of the art of security in DTNs, especially with respect to their application to vehicular networks. After an introduction to the basic mechanisms of these protocols, we review the attacks that may threaten their operation, and the security
mechanisms that have been proposed to mitigate such attacks. We then discuss standards that have emerged and implementations of DTNs that address security issues. We finally conclude by discussing which techniques might be helpful for vehicular networks.
