We consider a Gaussian additive-noise channel with interference known to the transmitter but unknown to the receiver. A precoding technique based on lattice quantization is able to achieve Costa’s “dirty-paper” limit for arbitrary interference signal, when this is known non-causally. When interference is known causally, the same technique yields asymptotically optimal achievable rates for high-SNR.We provide explicit code constructions based on low-density parity-check codes and on PAMmodulation able to closely approach the rates achievable by the lattice precoding scheme for causal known-interference.
