MAUI, a multimodal affective user interface based on appraisal theory

We describe a Multimodal Affective User Interface (MAUI) framework aimed at building user-models of emotions from multimodalities and adapting to them during human-computer interaction. We particularly focus here on facial information associated with emotion and identify specific questions for emotion theorists.
