MHV 2024, 3rd ACM Mile-High Video Conference, 11-14 February 2024, Denver, USA
The network conditions experienced by end-users of a cellular network can greatly vary over time because of changing coverage, due to the end-user's mobility, interference, or because of highly loaded cells at peak hours. Adaptive BitRate (ABR) streaming can compensate for some of these difficult network conditions by having the video player requesting lower video bitrates. However, in the best case, this comes at the price of lower video quality and, at worst, may still lead to video freezes and rebuffering.
