- Xinping Yi received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Information and Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China in 2005 with major in computer networking. He spent his final year in UTStarcom, with job duties involved in software development on Unix/Linux platform for end-to-end IPTV media station solution.
- In June 2009, he obtained his Master of Science degree in Communication and Information System at University of Electronic Science & Technology of China (UESTC), where his major option was wireless communications with specialization in distributed MIMO signal processing, space-time coding and precoding.
- In July 2011, he joined the Mobile Communications Department of EURECOM, and started his Doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof. David Gesbert. His research interests include multicell/multiuser MIMO systems, interference management and cooperative communications.
- From July 2009 to April 2011, he was a Research Engineer in Huawei Technologies, and he worked on research and product development of advanced channel coding techniques for 100Gb/s DWDM optical transmission systems as well as coherent receiver for next generation optical networks. He was also paying regular academic visits in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong, and worked on transceiver design and user scheduling for multiuser MIMO systems. After resignation from Huawei, he joined Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, HKUST, as a Research Assistant with emphasis on multi-relay cooperative communications.
