A world class
research
EURECOM’s three research strategies - opening new paths to future and emerging technologies, forstering public-private partnerships in ICT, and encouraging interdisciplinary projects to tackle societal challenges - are in line with Horizon 2020, Europe’s new research and innovation program.
NETWORKING AND SECURITY DEPT.
detection, malware analysis, secure programming.
MULTIMEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DEPT.
Keywords: multimedia analysis, audio and speech, image and video, linked data, multimedia indexing, biometry, video-surveillance, semantic web.
With the tremendous expansion of digital media, users are now overwhelmed by huge amounts of Multimedia information. This creates new challenges for storing, analyzing, organizing, searching such Multimedia content. New technologies are needed to solve these challenges, ef ciently process each media type, combine information extracted from various sources, design advanced and intelligent applications that better serve the needs of single users and communities.
MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS DEPT.
Keywords: Radio transmission, communication and information theory, cellular 5G networks,machine-to-machine, vehicular networks, cognitive radio, decentralized optimization,
Keywords: Network protocols, peer-to-peer systems, cloud computing, distributed algorithms, scheduling, measurement, tomography, modeling, game theory, network economics, network security, cryptography, information assurance, privacy, trust management, system security, intrusion detection, malware
The Networking and Security Department focuses on distributed computer applications and the underlying communication mechanisms. While the measurement and modeling of network traf c is essential to the design of new algorithms and protocols, security appears to be an emerging component of this activity through the capture and analysis of malicious behavior and the design of new countermeasures both for the distributed software applications and the communication systems.
self-organization.
Mobile communications are facing unprecedented revolution. The emergence of multimedia requires the convergence of internet, broadcast and telecommunication networks. In order to provide services to a large population of users, the redesign of communications strategies, radio spectrum sharing policies, Qos control modes and eventually the overall architecture of mobile networks must be carried out. Wireless technologies are federating smart sensors. All these applications require advances in domains ranging from radio to network architecture and communication theory.
