Real-Time Communication Networks

Post-Doctoral / Research Engineer Position M/F (Reference: CS/FS/26102022)

The selected candidate will conduct fundamental, independent research in the broad area of real-time communication networks.


Topics include but are not limited to

  • Multi-agent systems
  • Fundamental limitations of networked control systems
  • Game theory for controlled networks
  • Feedback capacity of channels with memory

Required Skills

  • Degree from a recognized university (PhD/DPhil/Dr.-Ing. – completed or soon to be completed) in electrical engineering, computer science, applied or computational mathematics or related engineering or natural sciences
  • Deep knowledge on at least one of the following research areas: information theory, computational math- ematics, optimal control and Markov decision theory, theoretical foundations of reinforcement learning, optimization
  • Strong publication record in top academic journals and conference venues (e.g., IEEE Transactions, Auto- matica, SIAM, IEEE ISIT, IEEE CDC, top ML conferences)
  • Excellent analytical, technical and problem solving skills
  • Organizational talent, excellent communication skills, and provable ability to work in a group
