Biography

Florian Kaltenberger was born in Vienna, Austria in 1978. He received his Diploma degree (Dipl.-Ing.) and his PhD both in Technical Mathematics (with distinction) from the Vienna University of Technology 2002 and 2007 respectively.
Between 2003 and 2007 he was a junior researcher in the wireless communications group at the Austrian Research Centers GmbH, where he was working on the development of low-complexity smart antenna and MIMO algorithms as well as on the ARC SmartSim real-time hardware channel simulator. He joined Eurecom as a post-doctoral research engineer in 2007 and became an assistant professor in 2010. He is currently teaching a course on radio engineering and is part of the team managing the Eurecom real-time open-source testbed OpenAirInterface.org. His research interests include signal processing for wireless communications, MIMO communication systems, receiver design and implementation, MIMO channel modeling and simulation, and hardware implementation issues.
