Transfer of copyright from the Author(s) and Publisher is required for each paper in order to protect both from the consequences of unauthorized use of its contents. Consequently, as a condition to publication it is essential that authors grant the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse - IRIT - all the rights, including the subsidiary right, of their article. However, authors retain the right to use their article without charge in any book of which they are the authors or editors, after it has appeared in the CBMI '99 Workshop Proceedings.

Whereas IRIT is undertaking to publish the article below named, of which the undersigned is Author, the Author grants and assigns exclusively to IRIT for its use, all transferable rights of whatsoever kind or nature now or hereafter protected by the French Code de la Propriété Intellectuelle and all foreign countries equivalent laws in all languages in and to the below named article, including all subsidiary rights. IRIT, in turn, grants to the Author the right of republication in any book of which he or she is the author or editor, subject only to his or her giving proper credit in the book to the original publication of the article by IRIT.

The Author guarantees that the article furnished has not been published previously elsewhere. Otherwise, the Author guarantees that if it has been previously published in whole or in part in a copyrighted medium the Author will submit an assignment of copyright to IRIT and the Author will submit the copy for credit lines with the manuscript. The author warrants that the manuscript is the author's original work. If the work was prepared jointly, the author agrees to inform co-authors of the terms of this agreement. The author also warrants that the article contains no libelous or unlawful statements, and does not infringe on the rights of others.
