Date: 21 mars 2016

Lieu: Eurecom - Salle Shannon

Abstract: This talk will present a number of candidate technologies for vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure communications. In more detail it will describe 802.11p and LTE applied for vehicular applications. The effect of vehicle speed, packet size and antenna correlation will be described. Simulation and emulation results will be presented. Then we will consider the challenges and opportunities of mmWave for vehicular communications. The talk will also present current projects on vehicular communications such as the VENTURER project and a summary of current CSN group activities. Bio:Angela Doufexi is currently a Reader in Wireless Networks at the University of Bristol. She graduated from the University of Athens with a B.Sc. in Physics and then she received her M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from Cardiff University, UK. She then joined the Communication Systems and Networks Group at the University of Bristol, UK, where she received her Ph.D. in 2002. Her research interests include OFDM systems, multiuser diversity and resource allocation, wireless LANs, MIMO, LTE and 5th generation communications systems, mmWave, VANETs and vehicular communications, software defined networking and multimedia transmission. She has published over 100 journal and conference papers in these areas. Email: A.Doufexi@bristol.ac.uk
