Seminar: LinkedTV: What do users want from video hyperlinking?

In the LinkedTV project TV programs are linked to the Web by (1) generating metadata through automatic content analysis and (2) using this metadata to find related content on the Web. Our aim is to better understand the requirements on such video hyperlinks by studying the information needs of users and their search/browsing behavior. We present a user study on second screen functionality for News broadcasts, demonstrate a second screen application that is based on these results and discuss some challenges for video hyperlinking.
