Mécanismes de handover pour les réseaux IP sans-fil

Handover is the process which allows the roaming of a mobile node between two access points. This roaming implies the momentary disconnection of the mobile node, and disruptions of current communications. Several handover mechanisms have been proposed for IP based protocols. In this document, we show comparisons and analyses of these mechanisms. We evaluate the end-to-end communication performance with UDP and TCP protocols. Finally, we propose a soft-handover mechanism.
