Graduate School and Research Center In communication systems

Today’s Internet consists of a large number of interconnected autonomous systems. The design of the Internet strikes a careful balance between the simplicity of the network elements and the sophistication of the algorithms running in the end-systems, which makes it possible to support a wide range of applications in a cost efficient manner. This study profile provides the students with a wide range of competences necessary to understand today's networks and keep up with their evolution. The students will not only acquire an in-depth understanding of the different protocols and concepts in networking but also become familiar with the principles of software engineering and performance analysis. The set of skills acquired will allow the students to respond both, to the needs of today's industry and, in the long term, to successfully compete in (and adapt to) a fast changing environment.
