Raimo Kantola is a full professor in the Communications and Networking Department of Aalto University. His area of teaching and research is Networking Technology. He is involved in two teaching majors: Networking Technology that prepares telecommunication system and networking specialists (switching and data communications paths) and Telecommunications Management that prepares people who are able to combine their understanding of the networking technology with essential business skills and competences. His current research focuses on Autonomic Communications and Application Frameworks such as Delay-tolerant networks, Mobile P2P, Session Control, and the Future Internet. He is also Director of the Master's Programme on Communications Engineering.
