• End-to-end transport : Fundamentals of transport protocols (conn mgmt, error control, congestion and flow control), TCP congestion control algorithms, TCP throughput modelling and TPC-friendlyness, TCP over wireless links, Recent extensions and open issues in TCP, Reliable Multicast
• Internet routers : HW architectures and packet processing Router hardware architectures, Longest-match prefix algorithms and IP lookups, Flow classifications algorithms, Active Queue Management (AQM) and RED, Traffic limiting/shaping algorithms.
• Virtualization : VLANs, Intro to ATM first, IP over ATM, LAN Emulation, MPLS
