The goal of the ANR DAPCODS project is to analyse a representative set of applications and to evaluate the transparency and their privacy impact. The goal of this thesis is to focus on the devices themselves and to develop new analysis techniques for such embedded devices then to apply those techniques to the set of selected devices. For this the student will be able to rely on the experience built over the years on devices analysis in the S3 (Software and System Security) group at EURECOM. The PhD is fully funded and work will take place at EURECOM and will be in a collaborative project funded by ANR. The student is expected to have experience, interest in, or wilingness to learn, embedded devices analysis, firmware analysis, reverse engineering.
